Team Update - Dom & Phoebe

Dom Headshot copyWe're pleased to introduce Dominic Barry as the North York Moors National Park Authority's Cycling Development Manager, a brand-new role to help shape the direction of cycling within the National Park.

Dom previously worked for Forestry England as a Recreation Manager, helping to improve the offer through working with new stakeholders, delivering events and diversifying income streams.  He's also spent time working abroad in the ski and outdoor industry. 

Dom is hoping to connect more people (by bike!) with the special qualities of the National Park through improving the connectivity and access of the cycling infrastructure and its wider network. He can be contacted by email d.barry@northyorkmoors.org.uk 


PhoebePhoebe Smith joined the North York Moors National Park in April 2023 after 18 months as B2B Marketing Assistant at Middlesborough College. As a keen traveller, she also had a strong following on social media where she documents her travels in her camper van across the country.

Her role includes a wide variety of skillsets across the marketing mix including content creation for our social media channels, eNews and website. Phoebe also oversees the curation of September’s annual Mindful Month and the Dark Skies Fringe, and main, Festivals either side of the Christmas period.

Phoebe is on-hand to support internal colleagues amplify their work across all our channels as well as liaising with external organisations, partners and businesses in the network to ensure we work collaboratively through various communication projects.

Since joining the authority she has become a key member of the Youth Voice group which is a collective of young people working to vocalise the aspirations and concerns of a generation towards the future of our protected spaces and rural communities.
