If you have any ideas please email Susan Briggs Be part of one or more of the Discover England Funded Projects - see details on the right and below. Come to our workshops: most of these will take place in Autumn and cover topics such as working with the travel trade and targeting and caring for Australian, German, Dutch, French and American visitors. We'll email details of these soon. |
English National Parks Experience CollectionThis two-year collaboration of the National Parks in England will create a joined up, branded collection of experiences, which tell the story of our landscapes, history and culture. There's an opportunity for you to take part in business support and training activities and to create new packages and experiences suitable for overseas markets. The project will initially target the Australian and German markets.
There is an application process for this programme, focusing on lead experience providers and accommodation providers. There's a sign-up fee which will be required at the beginning of the programme for successful businesses. This is based on the number of employees or how many rooms accommodation provider has. Please note the deadline for application is 5pm on 18 May 2018. Find out more and apply here. |
England's Great Walking TrailsMarketing Peak District and Derbyshire will promote the great walking trails of England to visitors from Germany, the Netherlands, France and the US. Three to 14 night itineraries, will be designed to promote walking holidays in England combining stunning scenery offered by seven of our National walking trails with the warm hospitality offered by English pubs and accommodation providers. These rural and coastal itineraries will either be booked in their entirety or amended to suit individual needs. The Cleveland Way is part of this project. There is more information on this project here for businesses situated along the Cleveland Way.
England's CoastWould you like to build business in the shoulder and off-peak periods? As well as increase your businesses reach in Western Europe?
We are writing to invite you to join England’s Coast, funded through VisitEngland’s Discover England Fund, its objective is to attract more visitors from Holland, Germany and France to the English Coast focussing on adults travelling in the shoulder and off-peak period. This will give your business an international marketing channel. The project inspires visitors to explore our fantastic coastline using new interactive videos that enable users to “add to favourites” things they like in the videos. Businesses involved in the project will be marketed by the England’s Coast team through our presence at international trade shows, extensive PR campaigns in the target countries and will be invited to be involved in press and trade familiarisation trips. The online itinerary builder is a key aspect of the project as it collates all the businesses on the coast and provides a direct booking channel to your business for consumers. There will also be a travel trade database where tour operators and travel agents can login to see only those businesses that are willing to take bookings from the travel trade either for groups or individual couples. The international travel trade is still very strong in Europe, especially in Germany, and they are keen to find coastal businesses who are willing to accept bookings from the trade. http://www.englandscoast.com is still under development but part of the site is live, so we can start adding businesses. A free listing is available to businesses until 31 March 2019 providing you have a website, and if you’re an accommodation provider with the ability to book online either directly with the business or through a third party provider. Listings are available for accommodation providers and places to eat within 5 miles of the coast and visitor attractions, landscape features, activities and local transport providers within 15 miles. For a free listing on England’s Coast, please click here<https://englandscoast.com/create-listing>, enter the required fields for each business you deal with and click submit. If you wish to be listed as both an accommodation provider and a place to eat please submit 2 separate forms. If you have any questions, please email katy.dunnill@coastaltourismacademy.co.uk.
