![]() Cleveland Way will be 50 years’ old on 24 May 2019.
Landscape artist Debbie Loane from Easingwold has been appointed as the trail’s artist in residence and is now preparing a major exhibition of her work, titled ‘109 Miles’ that will be staged from 11 May – 9 June at the National Park’s Inspired by… gallery at Danby to coincide with the anniversary. Other plans to celebrate the Cleveland Way’s 50th will reflect the great diversity of the landscape, variety of features and the broad range of activities along the trail that make it so special. England's Great Walking TrailsThe Cleveland Way is one of seven National Trails participating in the Discover England Funded project called England's Great Walking Trails which promotes the idea of 'challenge and comfort' to overseas visitors from the Netherlands, USA, and Germany.
The idea is to create interactive and enticing itineraries with the challenge of a long route, but comfort of a few nights in good accommodation en route, with plenty of rest days, pub and attraction visits. There are five ways you can benefit from this project - act before 8th March 2019:
